Starfish Therapies provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy in multiple settings, including but not limited to: our San Mateo clinic, your home, school or daycare. Our promise is that each therapy session will be catered to your child’s needs. We utilize an array of specialized equipment including the Universal Exercise Unit (UEU), Freedom Concepts Tricycles, Me Too Trikes, and TheraTogs at our San Mateo clinic, and are one of only three facilities in the Bay Area who are trained in and use the UEU. Along with our specialized equipment we also provide Intensive Pediatric Physical Therapy at our San Mateo clinic. Additionally, our therapists are certified in the TheraSuit method, Handwriting Without Tears, Alert Program (How Does Your Engine Run), Vital Links: The Listening Program and the Astronaut Program. We also provide assessments on foot wear including inserts and orthotics to further enhance your child’s developmental progress and to prevent musculoskeletal changes as they continue to grow. We are available to answer any questions or concerns related to your child’s needs, in addition to any questions you may have about Starfish Therapies and our services.
In addition to the therapy services we provide, Starfish Therapies also provides classes such as Baby Signs®, Body Mechanics for Parents and Caregivers, and Motor Smart Kids. Please go to the Other Services link below to find out more information.
Starfish Therapies is a Non-Public Agency (NPA) and contracts within several school systems. In addition, we are will do an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) for families to assist them with obtaining services through the school system. We are a vendor for Golden Gate Regional Center, the Regional Center of the East Bay and San Andreas Regional Center’s early intervention programs and are continually expanding our services. Starfish Therapies is contracted with most major insurance companies, including but not limited to: Humana, Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna and United Health Care. To utilize other insurance companies please contact us to find out about the possibility of utilizing a Clinical Gap Exception or Network Deficiency Exception.
